About Me

I have been playing and programming computers since my childhood. When I grew a little older, I studied electrical engineering at the University in Zagreb, Croatia and specialized in computer engineering. Some years later I did my Ph.D. in computer science at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen, Germany.

In my early days, I used to program computer games and make computer animations. Later I became fascinated by machine learning and, even later (and probably in the wrong order) in statistics and data science. My Ph.D. was about pattern recognition.

Also, since I was troubled by some IT security issues, I also ventured in that area. I hold several patents on that subject and my authetication app won the first prize at the "American Express Code Blue Contest" in 2001.
